King Asphalt, Inc has been successful in providing finished grading and paving services to the upstate of South Carolina since 1973.  King Asphalt has earned an impeccable reputation throughout the upstate.  This high standing is a result of not only the quality asphalt paving work we perform but also the dependability, attention to detail, and commitment to budget adherence that we offer each and every one of our customers.  Regardless of the scope of the project – a new driveway, a commercial parking lot, a county road, or a major highway for the South Carolina Department of Transportation – we believe in providing the highest quality and workmanship in every job we do.

Most importantly, WE DO WHAT WE SAY WE’RE GOING TO DO – safely, on time and within budget.

Started as a family owned business in 1973 by Randal King, King Asphalt, Inc. grew from a handful of employees paving residential driveways to a company of over 100 employees providing services such as light grading work, installation of stone base courses, asphalt paving, full depth patching, shoulder widening, and most recently concrete curb and gutter installation.

Due to our ever-increasing customer base and commitment to quality, we have installed two new ASTEC asphalt plants since 2002.  Our Simpsonville asphalt plant, which had a grand reopening in April 2006, is one of the largest facilities in the southeast.  This state-of-the-art plant is capable of producing over 500 tons of hot mix asphalt per hour with a storage capacity of 900 tons.

Also, to better serve our customers needs, we have also updated our paving equipment and established an entirely new fleet of dump trucks.  Our ability to mobilize quickly and efficiently has enabled King Asphalt to build a great reputation with the general contractors throughout the upstate.  These contractors have placed such confidence in us that they have often requested that we step in to finish a project for other paving contractors who were unable to provide the services for which they were contracted, due to an inability to meet a customer’s schedule or because of overbidding.  We value the trust they put in us and, as with all of our customers, we go the extra mile to complete their projects safely, on time and within their budget parameters.

In 2007, King Asphalt added both a Concrete Curb and Gutter and a Milling Division which allows us to complete a project from start to finish in-house.  This benefits our customers greatly as it presents significant costs savings to them through the elimination of subcontractor mark-ups.  It also allows us to respond more quickly to changing conditions and provide more flexibility in scheduling.

We know from years of experience that a satisfied customer is a returning customer.
